Audi wins GTC class at International Le Mans Cup finale in China

At the end of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) Audi Sport Team Joest achieved another podium result with the Le Mans winning Audi R18 TDI at the season finale in China. Timo Bernhard and Marcel Fässler finished the 6-hour race at Zhuhai in third place. Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen in the “sister car” were forced to retire due to a collision in which they were not at fault.
One-two victory for the Audi R8 LMS in the GTC class
In the GTC class Audi recorded a one-two-three success at Zhuhai: Audi Sport customer racing China celebrated a commanding victory on its first appearance with the Audi R8 LMS. DTM racer Edoardo Mortara on his GT debut won together with the Hong Kong Chinese Darrel O’Young and the Swiss Alexandre Imperatori. Second place went to the Audi R8 LMS fielded by Audi race experience. The Audi GT3 customer sports car will make another appearance next weekend in China at the GT race in neighboring Macau.

Imperatori and SG Changi add another SuperGT podium to 2011 season

SG Changi Racing Team scored another podium at the weekend in round 7 of the Super GT 300 Championship. It was the team’s second podium finish in a row. However, this time, it didn’t come easily and drivers Imperatori and Orime had to work hard for it after starting from 14th on the grid. (more…)
Perfect first endurance experience for Imperatori at the Sepang 12 hours

Alexandre Imperatori had his first taste of endurance racing in Sepang last week-end when he participated in the MMER 12 Hours of Malaysia for Absolute Racing. For the occasion, the swiss driver was partnered with gentleman driver Jeffrey Lee from Taiwan and young malaysian Aaron Lim. The trio were driving a customer Audi R8 LMS, with support from Audi, as the factory team WRT was also entering two cars with a top-notch driver line-up. The competition was equally fierce with top teams and drivers from Japan as well as Europe. (more…)
