IMPERATORI, KRAIHAMER AND TUSCHER ON THE PODIUM AT SILVERSTONE – Alexandre Imperatori

REBELLION Racing started the 2016 FIA WEC with the best result possible at the season opening round, the 6 Hours of Silverstone.

Alexandre Imperatori, Dominik Kraihamer and Mathéo Tuscher won the race in the LMP1 Privateer with the #13 Rebellion R-One AER, on top of a fourth place overall finish behind the Audi, Porsche and Toyota factory cars.

The REBELLION Racing car #12 driven by Nick Heidfeld, Nicolas Prost and Nelson Piquet Jr completed the 1-2 win for the Swiss team, finishing fifth overall.

Both cars showed good reliability, a deserved reward for the team’s and their technical partners’ hard work over the winter.

This encouraging result provides confidence for the coming races and the team will continue to introduce additional updates for the next race in Spa and for Le Mans 24 Hours.

The new partnership with Dunlop earned its first laurels, helping to build a stronger cooperation and deeper involment together.

The #13 Rebellion R-One AER drivers Alexandre Imperatori, Dominik Kraihamer and Mathéo Tuscher have worked well together since last year’s Shanghai race. In car #12 a new trio is building with the addition of Nelson Piquet Jr alongside regular drivers Nick Heidfeld and Nicolas Prost. Today’s race saw them secure their first podium together.

The next races in Spa and Le Mans will see them even stronger.

REBELLION Racing has high expectations for this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. The team is proud to rely on two quick and reliable driver crews.

Bart Hayden REBELLION Racing team manager : « We gave ourselves a bit of a challenge after we found both cars at the back of the grid after qualifying, but within 10 laps we were up with the rest of the P1 cars and from there we had a strong and reliable run to the chequered flag with both cars. Our preparations for 2016 started the day after the last race in Bahrain in 2015 when we stayed there for a week of testing. The team has worked hard over the winter in the areas that we wanted to improve, so it is very pleasing to see a reward for that today. It’s great that in our first race with Dunlop with the P1 cars we got them both on to the top steps of the podium. We have more to come and are looking forward to the next events.
